Australia: Cosy Corner proven at distance of Gosford handicap
The filly Cosy Corner will be a danger on or near the lead in a six-furlong handicap at Gosford Racecourse in Australia on Wednesday evening with two worthy rivals in Storm the Ramparts and Fameux expected to be in close pursuit.
Cosy Corner won a maiden race at Gosford in her sixth career start on Nov. 14. She stalked the early pace and won by slightly more than a length as the 7-5 favorite. On Nov. 25, Cosy Corner set the pace and was beaten slightly less than a half-length at 1-2. Both races were run at six furlongs.
Trained by Paul Perry, Cosy Corner will not be favored in Wednesday evening’s race, a role expected to go to Storm the Ramparts.

Storm the Ramparts has started twice at five furlongs in the last five weeks after returning from a layoff of nearly seven months. He won a maiden race at Gosford in his comeback on Nov. 2, and was second by slightly less than a half-length in a handicap at Warwick Farm on Nov. 22.
Storm the Ramparts raced in traffic shortly after the start at Warwick Farm and overall did not have a favorable trip in the brief race.
Fameux beat three rivals as the 1-5 favorite in a maiden race at 5 1/2 furlongs at Bathurst Racecourse on Nov. 18 in his first start since early July and his sixth career start. Earlier this year, Fameux was ambitiously tried in the Grade 3 Canonbury Stakes for southern hemisphere 2-year-olds, but finished last of five.
Storm the Ramparts and Fameux will start at six furlongs for the first time at Gosford on Wednesday. The race has drawn a field of 12.
Gosford has a seven-race program beginning at 9:15 p.m. Eastern or 6:15 p.m. Pacific. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
