Australia: Chowdah can end three-race skid at Dubbo on Sunday
An outside rally may be all the 4-year-old gelding Chowdah needs to end a three-race losing streak in a one-mile handicap at Dubbo Racecourse in Australia on Sunday evening.
Chowdah finished fifth, beaten just three-quarters of a length by East Harlem, in a seven-furlong handicap at Dubbo on June 26, closing from last of 14. Chowdah rallied on the rail, overcame trouble on the turn and had a clear run through the final furlong to be nearest the front at the finish.
A wide rally may have resulted in a win, considering how close Chowdah was to the front at the finish.

A winner of 2 of 14 starts, Chowdah is winless in four starts at a mile, but has been second three times. In his last win, Chowdah closed from seventh in a field of 13 to win a handicap at 6 1/4 furlongs at Gunnedah on May 2 in his first start since January.
Sunday evening’s race includes East Harlem, who ended a six-race losing streak with a nose win at Dubbo on June 26. East Harlem, who is quick enough to set the pace and also effective as a stalker, has finished in the top three in four starts since returning from a four-month layoff in mid-May.
This will be East Harlem’s first start at a mile, a distance that should be within reach for the 3-year-old gelding considering his last-race win at Dubbo.
Daksha, third by a neck at Dubbo on June 26 in the same race as East Harlem and Chowdah, is another runner who can be a factor from off the pace.
Daksha lacks a recent win, having lost 13 starts since January 2022. During the losing streak, Daksha has finished second or third three times.
Dubbo has a nine-race program beginning at 9:55 p.m. Eastern or 6:55 p.m. Pacific. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
