Australia: Black Jacamar vs. King Charming should make interesting handicap
Black Jacamar, the 4-year-old Australian filly, won her first start of 2022 in a five-furlong handicap at Taree Racecourse on May 2 as the even-money favorite.
To win her second start of the year, in a five-furlong handicap at Hawkesbury Racecourse near Sydney on Tuesday, Black Jacamar must beat King Charming, an undefeated gelding who has not raced since October.
King Charming, who won his first two starts last September and October, was the 6-5 favorite in early betting on Sunday. Black Jacamar, who was 9-2, and King Charming are part of a field of eight in the fifth of eight races on a Hawkesbury program that begins at 10:45 p.m. Eastern, or 7:45 p.m. Pacific, on Monday. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
Black Jacamar, trained by Kim Waugh, has won 3 of 7 starts. In the recent race at Taree, Black Jacamar closed from third in a field of six to win by a half-length.
