Australia: Bitcoin Baby ends layoff in six-furlong handicap on Tuesday
There’s no reason to speculate. Bitcoin Baby is an Australian filly with ample ability.
A debut winner against Southern Hemisphere 2-year-olds in May, Bitcoin Baby has not raced since a fifth-place finish in a well-regarded six-furlong handicap in June.
Bitcoin Baby’s layoff ends in another six-furlong handicap for fillies and mares at Gosford Park on Tuesday, her first start outside of her age group.
Bitcoin Baby has kept good company in her limited career. In the Congo, second in the June 12 race at Royal Randwick Racecourse, won the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes at Rosehill Gardens Stakes on Sept. 25.

Bitcoin Baby, trained by Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou, will be favored in a field of 11 at Gosford and is one of three 3-year-old fillies well regarded in the lineup.
Silk Tie and Belle O’ballee have run races in the last month that fit with this field.
Silk Tie has won 2 of 4 starts, and frequently races from off the pace. She was third by about 2 1/4 lengths in a six-furlong handicap at Kembla Grange Racecourse on Oct. 23. Silk Tie won a five-furlong handicap at Goulburn on Oct. 5, in her first start since April.
Belle O’ballee has had mixed results since returning from a five-month layoff in early October. Belle O’ballee was second at 25-1 in a five-furlong handicap at Goulburn on Oct. 9, but sixth of seven, beaten slightly more than two lengths, in a handicap at 5 1/2 furlongs against fillies and mares at Hawkesbury on Oct. 26.
Belle O’ballee did not have a smooth trip at Hawkesbury, racing between rivals early. She finished with interest to suggest a top-three finish is within reach at Gosford.
Gosford has an eight-race program that begins at 9 p.m. Eastern, or 6 p.m. Pacific, on Monday. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
