Australia: Aspect Ratio finds better fit at Wyong
At a glance, the Australian-bred filly Aspect Ratio has a modest record, with one win in 12 starts. She deserves the benefit of the doubt for a lack of wins.
Of those 12 starts, Aspect Ratio has run in seven group-level stakes, with a second-place finish in 2019 her best result among those starts. An appearance in a minor handicap at a mile at Wyong Racecourse on Tuesday is a far more sensible scenario.
Aspect Ratio was 10th of 14 in the Group 1 ATC Oaks at Royal Randwick in April and was given a rest during the Australian winter. She returned to action with a third-place finish in a handicap at 6 3/4 furlongs at Wyong on Aug. 30, closing from eighth in a field of 10 to miss by two lengths.

Last March, Aspect Ratio was fourth against a very tough field in the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes at 7 1/2 furlongs at Rosehill Gardens. The race was open to males, but was won by the filly Funstar.
Aspect Ratio is part of a field of 11 in the fifth of eight races at Wyong on Tuesday. First post time is 11:05 p.m. Eastern, or 8:05 p.m. Pacific, on Monday. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
The lightly raced 3-year-old filly Jeanne D’Arc and the maiden Let Me Think appear to be Aspect Ratio’s biggest rivals.
Jeanne D’Arc was second in her debut against males in a maiden race at 6 1/4 furlongs at Newcastle on Aug. 22 and won a seven-furlong maiden race for fillies and mares at Hawkesbury on Sept. 5, leading throughout.
Let Me Think, a 4-year-old filly, is winless in six starts, but has been second or third in her last three races. She was third by a length in a maiden race at 7 3/4 furlongs at Canterbury Park on Sept. 9.
While fillies are likely to dominate the betting, the 4-year-old gelding Delileo has a respectable chance. Delileo won a maiden race at seven furlongs at Kembla Grange on Aug. 29, his second start after a layoff of more than six months.
