The Australian filly Allasandra was eight races into her career before she beat maidens in a sprint race at Wyong Racecourse in April. She has not lost since, winning her next two starts against winners in sprint handicaps at Newcastle and on the infield Kensington course at Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney in June. Allasandra is back on the Kensington course on Tuesday evening for a start in a sprint against fillies and mares at 6 1/2 furlongs against the same class level as her recent win at the track on June 14. Aside from the distance, the most significant difference is Allasandra’s weight assignment. She carried just 114.6 pounds in her last start and will carry 124.5 on Tuesday evening. In both races, trainer David Payne employed apprentice jockeys to lower the weight assignment. Jeff Stanley had the mount on June 14, knocking more than six pounds off the original assignment.  For Tuesday’s race, Allasandra was assigned 127.8 pounds, which has been reduced to 124.5 because of the booking of jockey Zac Lloyd. :: Get free past performances, analysis, and picks for Australian racing Allasandra is part of a field of nine. Trainer Joseph Pride has two leading contenders in Anagain and Principessa, who have similar closing styles as Allasandra. Anagain, a 4-year-old filly, has won once in 17 starts, in her debut in March 2021. She was fifth by five lengths in a tougher handicap for fillies and mares at 6 1/2 furlongs at Rosehill Gardens on June 17 and can be a factor against a lower class of runners. Principessa, a 4-year-old New Zealand-bred filly, has won once in 16 starts, in a maiden race last October. Winless in her last seven starts, Principessa was fourth by slightly less than 1 1/2 lengths behind Allasandra on June 14 after a wide trip. The fourth-place finish was the first time that Principessa finished worse than second or third in the seven-race losing streak. The sprint for fillies and mares is the fourth race on a seven-race program on the Kensington course that begins at 10:50 p.m. Eastern, or 7:50 p.m. Pacific.
