Post 10 proved to be little problem for Aspenglow, who followed up her win in last month’s $225,000 Cavada on the West Virginia Breeders’ Classic card by cruising to a 2 3/4-length victory over nine other West Virginia-bred fillies and mares in Saturday night’s $51,200 My Sister Pearl Stakes at Charles Town. A 4-year-old filly ridden by Travis Dunkelberger for trainer Gary Capuano, Aspenglow ($3) went straight to the front in the three-turn, 1 1/8-mile race, opened up by as many as eight lengths in the first half-mile, and was ridden out to the wire. She completed the nine furlongs in a slow 1:54.43. It was the third straight win since she returned from a five-month freshening in September and the 11th in 13 lifetime starts at Charles Town. Here Comes Oonga a 24-1 longshot making her first start off a $16,000 claim by trainer Mark Shuman, finished second, 2 1/4 lengths clear of defending champion Saxet Heights. Aspenglow’s coupled stablemate, Silver Heart, finished fourth.
