Artax on the move to Oklahoma
Artax, 1999s sprint champion and Breeders Cup Sprint winner, will relocate this week from New York to stand at Randy Gammills Diamond G Ranch in Oklahoma.
Artax, a 13-year-old Marquetry horse, will stand for $2,500 at Diamond G Ranch.
The Edmond, Okla., facility also is home to Evansville Slew, Lucky Lionel, and Tactical Cat.
Artax previously stood at Fever Stallions in Coxsackie, N.Y., where he had a $3,500 fee this year. Out of Raging Apalachee, by Apalachee, Artax is the sire of Grade 1 winner Friendly Michelle, Grade 1-placed Miss Norman, and graded performers including Diabolical, and Show Me the Cash.
From six crops to race so far, Artax has progeny earnings of more than $11.1 million.
