The American Graded Stakes Committee on Thursday approved a request by Churchill Downs Inc. to allow the company to run Arlington Park's signature stakes -- the Grade 1 Arlington Million and Beverly D. and the Grade 2 Secretariat Stakes -- at its Colonial Downs property in 2023 while retaining their current grades. Join now! Arlington was shuttered after the 2021 racing season and sold to be developed. Earlier this year, Churchill ran a special program on Aug. 13 that featured two of the three races, with Santin winning the Arlington Million and Dalika the Beverly D. The Secretariat Stakes, last run as the Bruce D. as a Grade 1 in 2021 at Arlington, was not run in 2022, though it had been downgraded to a Grade 2. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
