Aqueduct, Turfway cancel due to high winds

Due to rain and high winds, Aqueduct has canceled its live card for Wednesday. The track had received 1 1/2 inches of rain by Wednesday morning and was expecting up to another half-inch to three-quarters of an inch. Winds were gusting up to 30 miles per hour.

Aqueduct will be open for simulcast and telephone wagering. Racing is scheduled to resume Thursday.

* Turfway Park in Florence, Ky., canceled its Wednesday night card due to sustained winds that are expected to hit 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. The track remains open for simulcasting, and live racing is expected to resume Thursday.

* Beulah Park canceled the remainder of Wednesday's card after running the third race because of high winds. A high wind warning was in effect in the area with wind gusts expected to approach 60 miles per hour or more. Racing was scheduled to resume Friday.
