Aqueduct: Ruffian to see rematch of Fritchie

OZONE PARK, N.Y. - Funnys Approval, My Wandy’s Girl, and Withgreatpleasure, the top three finishers from the Grade 2 Barbara Fritchie Handicap, comprise half the field entered for Saturday’s Grade 2, $250,000 Ruffian Handicap at one mile.

The Ruffian is carded as the fourth race on the card.

Funnys Approval recorded a 21-1 front-running shocker in the seven-furlong Barbara Fritchie, her fourth consecutive victory since being switched to the dirt by trainer Jose Lopez.

Funnys Approval held off My Wandys Girl, who was making her first start since finishing third in last year’s Gazelle, then a Grade 1 held on Thanksgiving weekend.
My Wandy’s Girl is the 117-pound highweight, spotting Funnys Approval and Affectionately winner Twice the Lady one pound. Onepointhreekarats, seventh in the Barbara Fritchie following three consecutive victories, and Centrique, who has been purchased by Farnsworth Stables and transferred to Juan Carlos Guerrero, complete the field.
