RACE 5: JALEN JOURNEY ships in from out of town with competitive Beyers and upgrade potential after racing off the pace in a race lacking speed in his latest. OPTIC WAY didn't run to his best Beyers in his return from the layoff, but he did move prematurely. He makes his first start off the Rudy Rodriguez claim, as does Advanced Strategy. PICASSO is back in for a tag after a couple of allowance tries off the layoff; back Beyers fit nicely. ADVANCED STRATEGY has steady figures and a solid closing kick. RACE 6: Going to go as deep as possible in this maiden sprint, a competitive race, at least on paper. Using RUNANDSCORE, FORTY ONE TALES, MAKAR, POP COYER, SIGNAL CORPS, and WOODSIDE WARRIOR, but given a key scratch in a later race I'd stretch this out and include them all. RACE 7: Looking to use both of the two entries in this allowance sprint, as there's some early zip in this lineup, and all four can make up ground in the lane. ALLABOUTTHEMONEY is easy to like off that easy score in his latest, and trainer David Jacobson wins at a high rate with last-out winners. ROYAL TRYST has consistent figures and should be running late. :: Bet the races on DRF Bets! He can wire this Tom Fool field if he's able to get loose in the opening stages. NAKATOMI hasn't been out since late December, but he may be the main threat in the lane for trainer Wesley Ward. RACE 9: There's also a fair amount of speed in the Gotham, which drew a bulky field of 14, plus also-eligible Radio Red. Trips could well play a factor, but it does seem the closers will have the edge. Longshot RAISE CAIN makes his local debut and should get faster fractions than he did in his last pair, which marked his first two tries going long. HOWGREATISNATE is undefeated in four starts. He stretches out for the first time, but if he can rate and make one run he should be perfectly spotted behind the expected duel. MR. SWAGGER adds blinkers and goes long in his second career start. RACE 10: BOURBON READY ships up from Florida and should fare well against the locals if he can run to that big maiden score in his third start off the layoff. There's speed to his inside and out, and he should be well set up in this finale. THE PLAY: 4, 7, 8, 9 / 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 / 1, 2 / 5, 6 / 2, 3, 12 / 4 = $288 ticket :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering? Check out DRF's Handicapping 101 and Wagering 101 pages.
