Aqueduct: Mamdooha, Sustainable breeze towards Cicada

Mamdooha, winner of the Ruthless Stakes, and Sustainable, second in the Dearly Precious Stakes, worked a half-mile in company in 48.70 seconds over Belmont Park’s training track on Saturday morning. Both are being pointed to next Saturday’s $100,000 Cicada Stakes at six furlongs.
The two broke off very quickly and went their opening quarter in 23.19 seconds.
“Mamdooha runs well in the afternoon and she’s just average in the morning,” said Art Magnuson, assistant to Kiaran McLaughlin. “We put former jockey Renzo Morales on her and told him don’t go too fast, but squeeze her a little bit. She hasn’t been out in a while.”
Mamdooha, a daughter of Daaher, has won three consecutive races, including the Ruthless on Jan. 12 since losing her debut last September at Monmouth. Sustainable was beaten 10 1/4 lengths by Gracer in the Dearly Precious on Feb. 8.
