Aqueduct horses to watch: Week of Dec. 21
INMYFATHERSIMAGE
Trainer: Rudy Rodriguez
Last race: Dec. 12th, 5th
Finish: 1st by 4 1/4
Beyer: 84
Stepped up his game to win his maiden first off the claim for Rodriguez with a 70 Beyer, then took it to another level versus other winners, traveling strongly throughout and overpowering the field in a much-the-best win that earned a Beyer that suggests he’ll be competitive in some better races on the inner dirt this winter.
ITSAGOODTENDOLLARS
Trainer: Jeremiah Englehart
Last race: Dec. 12, 7th
Finish: 5th by 12 3/4
Beyer: 68
This effort was a complete disaster and is best thrown out when he returns, as he was given no chance with rider wrangling him back out of contention in a race with no pace. He is way better than that and likes the inner.
BURNED BRIDGES
Trainer: David Donk
Last race: Dec. 12, 7th
Finish: 4th by 6 3/4
Beyer: 78
First off the layoff in that same slow-paced affair won on the front end, and he wound up taking a strong wide run at the lead before weakening late in an effort that was better than it will look in his PPs.
THE BIG DELUXE
Trainer: Gary Gullo
Last race: Dec. 14, 7th
Finish: 1st by 5 1/2
Beyer: 85
May turn out to be a shrewd claim after burying a big field with a second consecutive new Beyer top; has now won two in a row back on dirt with figures that suggest he can be competitive in some better N.Y.-bred races this winter.
