Due to the rains that forced turf racing to be mostly curtailed at Aqueduct this weekend, Sunday’s Grade 2, $200,000 Miss Grillo Stakes has been postponed and will now be run on Oct. 6, the New York Racing Association announced Sunday. The Miss Grillo, a “Win and You’re In" race for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, will be open to all original nominees and potential supplementals and will be re-drawn on Wednesday. The other four scheduled turf races for Sunday were moved to the main track. On Saturday, Aqueduct had three turf races moved to the main track and held only the Grade 1 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic and Grade 2 Pilgrim. All multi-race wagers involving the Miss Grillo, which was scheduled for race 8, were canceled. That included the pick-6, which had a carryover of $83,911 after not being hit on Saturday. That carryover will now move to Thursday’s card. Sunday’s ninth race, originally scheduled for 5:13 p.m., will now be moved to 4:48 p.m. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
