Vulnerable FavoriteBOTTLEOFREDORWHITE (#6, 3-1) ran well enough in that turf debut last time but he could not have had a better set-up; he goes long for the first time here and he makes his 2nd start off the layoff, which could mean he regresses some.--Kenny Peck Closer Looks >> |

Live LongshotAWESOME HEART (#2, 8-1) chased wire to wire winner while down inside on a day pretty much dominated by front end winners; prior main track race was at today’s distance and he outperformed his odds in key race at MTH. Takes the big drop first time for a tag today.--Chuck Kuehhas Closer Looks >> |

Spot PlayYES IT'S SHOWTIME (#4, 7-2) was no match for the winner in that last one but he was game to hold the place, as he was chasing a slow early pace there; should get a better set-up today and that should only move him up.--Kenny Peck |

Live LongshotIN THE BEAT (#8, 20-1): Oft-claimed sprinter was haltered first time back from a freshening two weeks ago. He’s got some competitive back figures, including a close third at Monmouth when beaten just over a length by today’s morning-line favorite, Majestic Number.--Dave Litfin |

Spot PlayThis race features a heavy ML favorite in NATALIE VICTORIA (#5, 6/5) who may be worth trying to beat as she not only returns from a layoff, but has always been inconsistent and is better going longer (only sprint wins in her career came when shipped to Suffolk Downs by David Jacobson). I want to use LEAD ME ON (#4, 8/1) who ran a race three-back in new blinkers which makes her competitive; don’t hold her two starts since then against her as she stretched out and was stuck four-wide on Feb 19, a day when the inner dirt was heavily slanted toward speed and the inside, and then tried turf off the layoff.--Mike Beer Closer Looks >> |
