Aqueduct: DRF Plus handicapping report for November 10, 2013

DRF Staff|Nov 09, 2013

Race 1

Spot Play

GUMDROP (#6, 15-1) might be the main speed in this opener, and though her ability to handle the turf is unknown the sire gets a decent 12% winners with horses debuting grass; using her with the entry -- MARIE ANTOINETTE (#1, 5-2) and SPANISH GOLD(#1A) as well as with TRULY MIZZED (#4, 7-2). -Kenny Peck

Live Longshot

GUMDROP (#6, 15-1) stopped after setting pressured pace in mud at odds-on at Parx, and carried her speed better on Arlington Park’s synthetic surface prior to that. The Fair Hill shipper may take to the grass, as dam Madame X Ski is a half-sister to Tenski, a multiple graded turf stakes winner in New York and Kentucky. --Dave Litfin

Race 5

Spot Play

MEDEA (#10, 6-1) had two solid efforts off the seven month layoff; third start back and may be sitting on a career best for low profile, but solid conditioner. Will play to win and exacta box with #9 SILKY. - Chuck Kuehhas

Vulnerable Favorite

WHOLELOTTASHAKIN (#3, 7-2) no real major knocks here, although she is 0 for 7 at the distance; just think this is a wide open affair and best to look elsewhere. - Chuck Kuehhas

Race 7

Spot Play

SPEAKING OF WHICH (#8, 10-1) hasn't been much of a presence this year after making a promising appearance over here at the end of his 3yo season - his Twilight Derby was a very strong effort, and he was completely eliminated in traffic at the quarter pole of the Grade 1 Hollywood Derby. This is a strong field, but he has a chance to salvage something if ready for his best. - Mike Beer

Race 8

Spot Play

START JUMPIN (#11, 4-1) is a lightly-raced 3-year-old who has shown dramatic improvement since the summer; just missed in his latest after big-figure win two starts ago; poised for one of his best efforts. – Byron King
