Vulnerable FavoriteAMERICAN CREED (#7, 3-5) ran a 70 Beyer over a muddy sealed track three starts back, a number that figures to be plenty good enough if he can run it again, but his two starts since then, while still fastest in the field, don’t make him quite the stick-out, and he was defeated as the favorite when dropped to this level for the last one. He’s the one to beat, to be sure, but I don’t know if he’s an odds-on kind of horse. - Mike Beer
Spot PlayIf we’re against American Creed as a heavy favorite, it’s best to have an opinion against him. I’ll try SCARE CITY (#6, 6-1) who spent much time chasing along a dead rail on January 13th, and then didn’t stretch out vs. promising Tapitation last time; turns back on the drop and may be better than he looks on paper. -Mike Beer

Spot PlayPerhaps SEEKER (#7, 7-2) can shake loose and control the pace in this sprint; she's down in class and she catches a field that is made up largely of stalkers and closers. -Kenny Peck SEEKER (#7, 7-2): The last two times this gelding has been entered in a claiming race, the results were convincing victories by three lengths – at Aqueduct’s 2013 spring meet, and at Parx Racing last summer; chased a sharp pace against I’m Stoked (4 for 6) in last.- Dave Litfin
