Spot PlayMY BELLA BEAUTY’s (#6, 4-1) figures improved with a switch to turf over the summer, but she ran well on dirt to begin her career, and I’m not so sure the “improvement” on grass wasn’t just a result of natural progression; lands in a field where here competition are either proven turf horses trying out the dirt, or returning from layoffs. – Mike Beer

Vulnerable FavoriteDARNLEY BAY (#6, 3-1) is a close 2nd choice on the Morning Line but her overall record clearly suggests she's more apt to complete the trifecta than she is to key it; she was a non-threatening third under similar circumstances last time out. -Kenny Peck
Live LongshotELUSIVE DESIGN (#5, 6-1): Yet to race on dirt, but the turf turn-back is related to two winners on that surface; she may have the needed conditioning to overtake some tiring rivals at six and one-half furlongs, after challenging in the stretch at 1 1/16 miles vs. favored Viva Allegiance (who also tries the main track two races earlier). --Dave Litfin

Spot PlayAfter a strong win in lone start for Midwest Thoroughbreds/Jamie Ness on July 7th, SO BLESSED (#3, 6-1) continued her improvement with a trio of solid races in August & September for this barn; she’s a good fit with this crew and the turn back is going to help. – Mike Beer

Spot PlayMISSISSIPPI DUEL (#7, 4-1) has some speed in a race lacking same, and that should give him a tactical edge; capable of wiring these if Ortiz is able to back down the fractions. -Kenny Peck
