GO WEST MARIE (#5, 8-1) is better than she may appear on paper after enduring a brutally tough trip having to circle around the field two back, only to see the eventual winner slip through on the rail to outfinish her, and then landing in an impossible spot vs. Our Amazing Rose last time; plenty of pace for her to run at in here. - Mike Beer

Is VIOLET HOUR (#1, 7-5) really going to be a heavy favorite in this race, with plenty of speed to her outside? If so, I can go against her. - Mike Beer

JOAN’S CHOICE (#6, 7-2): Although unable to contain Sacred Ground late in their Mar. 21 meeting, he was against the grain of an anti-speed bias; the erstwhile stakes horse has back class and appears the controlling speed again off a claim by an outfit that excels with older geldings. --Dave Litfin
