Aqueduct: Defending champ Mekong Melody among eight for Long Island Handicap

Adam Coglianese/NYRA Mekong Melody, under Alex Solis, gives Woodbine-based trainer Roger Attfield his fourth graded stakes win of the season in New York in Saturday's Long Island Handicap.
Headed by last year’s winner, Mekong Melody, and Glens Falls winner Emerald Beech, a field of eight fillies and mares was drawn for Saturday’s Grade 3, $150,000 Long Island Handicap, which is the final graded turf stakes of the year in New York.
With weights and riders, the field from the rail out is: Unbridled Essence (Jose Lezcano, 114); Little Often Anni (Mike Luzzi, 113); Musical Rain (Ramon Dominguez, 115); Hasay (Pablo Morales, 115); Hit It Rich (Javier Castellano, 115); Emerald Beech (Alex Solis, 119); Mekong Melody (Rajiv Maragh, 117); and Akris Queen (Jacqueline Davis, 108).
