Aqueduct cancels Thursday card due to expected winter storm
Aqueduct’s eight-race Thursday card has been canceled due to a forecast of four to eight inches of snow in the New York Metropolitan area on Thursday.
The snow is expected to begin Thursday morning and last throughout the day, with the possibility of snow showers lingering into Friday.
NYRA informed horsemen that training on Thursday at Belmont Park would end at 8 a.m., 2 1/2 hours earlier than normal.
This is the third racing cancellation of the winter meet, joining Dec. 17 and Jan. 29. Racing was canceled on Feb. 7, but that card was simply moved to and run on Feb. 8.
Live racing is expected to resume Friday with an eight-race card that begins at 1:20 p.m.
