Aqueduct cancels Sunday racing due to high winds

Jim Dunleavy|Nov 19, 2017

Sunday racing at Aqueduct was canceled at 9 a.m. due to high winds in the New York area.

The AccuWeather forecast for South Ozone Park, Queens, calls for winds at close to 30 miles per hour and gusts up to 50. Rain and drizzle are possible.

Temperatures are expected to be in the mid to high 50s.

An hour prior to the cancellation, it was announced that the day's turf races would be moved to the main track following Saturday-night rain.

Aqueduct will be open for simulcast wagering Sunday, but the Belmont Park Café will be closed.

The $125,000 Thunder Rumble division of the New York Stallion Stakes has been rescheduled for a week from Wednesday, Nov. 29.
