Adam Coglianese/NYRA Arena Elvira, with Junior Alvarado riding, wins the Turnback the Alarm.

OZONE PARK, N.Y. - The last six graded stakes of the year in New York will be run this week, beginning with Thursday's Grade 3, $100,000 Fall Highweight Handicap, which is the traditional Thanksgiving Day feature.

The 10 entrants include a three-ply entry from Repole Stable and Todd Pletcher, two of which are likely to scratch. John Velazquez is named on top-weighted Calibrachoa (135 pounds) and Caixa Eletronica (134), while Driven by Success finished last in an overnight stakes Sunday.

From the rail out, the field is Frazil, Parent's Honor, Caixa Eletronica, Sunrise Smarty, Flat Bold, Escrow Kid, Driven by Success, General Maximus, Nathan's H Q, and Calibrachoa.

First post Thursday is 11:25 a.m. Eastern.

Arena Elvira heads Go for Wand

Friday's Grade 2, $150,000 Go for Wand drew nine fillies and mares, headed by Arena Elvira, who is the group's lone graded stakes winner after taking the Grade 3 Turnback the Alarm here Nov. 4.

"She is coming back quickly, shortening up, and this is probably the last race of the season for her as well," said trainer Bill Mott of Arena Elvira, who will carry top weight of 120 pounds in seeking her fourth straight win. "She's really been a gem of consistency."

From the rail out, the field is: Lovely Lil, Risky Rachel, All Due Respect, Katy Now, Indian Legend, Arena Elvira, Spa City Princess, Persuading, and C C's Pal.
First post for Friday's 10-race card is noon.

The same schedule will be in place Saturday, when the Cigar Mile, Gazelle, Remsen, and Demoiselle bring down the curtain on graded stakes racing in New York for 2011.
