Appealing Resume has that winning habit
CYPRESS, Calif. – Appealing Resume’s career has been inconspicuous. The 7-year-old mare has never started in a stakes, dropped as low as $4,000 claiming early in her career, and has campaigned mostly in Northern California and Washington.
She has kept winning, 14 times, tied for the most by any Successful Appeal progeny. On Friday at Los Alamitos, Appealing Resume will try to make it 15 wins in race 7, a starter allowance for fillies and mares who have raced for a $25,000 tag or less since the start of 2013 and have not won at the level since.
Six fillies and mares were entered in race 7 on a sleepy card. Four of the eight races are maiden claimers, a restricted $6,250 claimer was split, and 2-year-old special-weight maiden fillies go 5 1/2 furlongs.
Appealing Resume will be among the favorites in the featured race.

The starter allowance is the first seven-furlong race of the short meet, over a track that last weekend produced slower times and played fair to all styles, including late runners. The profile shift benefits Appealing Resume, who generally rallies from off the pace.
Appealing Resume was reclaimed by Ed Moger last out from a fourth-place finish in a $25,000 claiming race. Appealing Resume has made 26 starts for Moger, winning 11. Her rivals Friday include Prettyhotprincess, third last out in a $20,000 claiming race, and Tim’s Go Girl, a runner-up last out while finishing five lengths in front of Appealing Resume.
DRF FORMULATOR FACT: No. 2 Prettyhotprincess. Trainer Hector Palma is 2 for 5 (4 in the money) with a $3.88 ROI over the past five years going from synthetic to dirt in the second start following a layoff. Click for more details. – Mike Hogan
