Appeal Factor made every pole a winning one in taking the $50,000 Seattle Stakes in her 2024 debut on Saturday June 15 at Emerald Downs.
Appeal Factor, trained by David Martinez, remained undefeated with her third win in as many career starts.
The daughter of The Factor and the Colonel John mare Karula, Appeal Factor went 6 furlongs over a fast track in 1:09.16, winning by 1 1/2 lengths over 9-1 outsider Victoria's Charge. It was another half-length back to favored Paynt Ya Later, who finished third. Silvio Amador again rode Appeal Factor, who paid $9.00 to win.
The winner had been turning heads in the mornings, most notably with a spirited 6-furlong workout on May 30 clocked in 1:09.80; only two fillies or mares have worked a faster 6 furlongs in the 28-year history of Emerald Downs. With the victory, Appeal Factor earned the $27,500 winner's share to bring her career bankroll to $82,500.

Appeal Factor was bumped at the start before asserting herself and racing up to battle for the lead while in the 3-path into the turn. Facing pressure from both sides, she continued on through a spirited half-mile in 44.01 before opening up into the stretch and seeing no serious challenge.
Runner-up Victoria's Charge bumped with the winner at the start before landing an advantageous outside tracking position behind a three-horse battle on the backstretch. She then moved within a length of Appeal Factor on the turn, only to see Appeal Factor draw away again.
Appeal Factor was making her first start since August 6, 2023, when she won the W.T.B.O.A. Lassie Stakes at Emerald Downs as a 2-year-old.
