A.P. Indy's sons add to his legacy on Kentucky Derby and Oaks days

The late Hall of Famer A.P. Indy left a lasting legacy as a sire of sires and as a leading broodmare sire. A.P. Indy and three of his sons accounted for seven graded stakes victories as broodmare sires on the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks cards last week at Churchill Downs.
A.P. Indy, who resided at Lane’s End Farm until his death last year, was the broodmare sire, via his Grade 1 winner Dreaming of Julia, of unbeaten Kentucky Oaks winner Malathaat. The following day, he added another Grade 1 winner as a broodmare sire as Flagstaff defeated a stellar field in the Churchill Downs Stakes. That gelding is out of Indyan Giving, also the dam of champion juvenile Game Winner.
