Any Given Saturday to Pin Oak Lane in Pennsylvania

DRF Breeding Staff|Oct 28, 2013

Grade 1 winner Any Given Saturday will relocate to Pin Oak Lane in New Freedom, Pa., for the 2014 breeding season to stand for an advertised fee of $5,000.

The 9-year-old son of Distorted Humor retired to stud in 2008, standing his entire career thus far at Darley’s Jonabell Farm in Lexington, Ky. Pin Oak Lane also partnered with Darley to stand Offlee Wild.

“Any Given Saturday will be an outstanding addition to our farm and to the breeding industry in Pennsylvania,” said Dr. William Solomon, owner of Pin Oak Lane. “He continues to show the ability to throw quality winners and I expect great support from breeders in our state.”

Any Given Saturday has sired four crops of racing age, led by Puerto Rican champion Dixie Indy, Sunland Park Oaks winner Princess Arabella, and stakes winners Show Some Magic, Carving, Dry Summer, and Sunday’s Child, as well as multiple Panamanian Group 2 winner Tomas Gabriel.

Any Given Saturday tallied six wins from 11 career starts for earnings of $1,083,533. His most successful campaign came as a 3-year-old in 2007, when he won the Grade 1 Haskell Invitational Handicap, as well as the Grade 2 Brooklyn Handicap and Dwyer Stakes. He also finished second in the Grade 3 Tampa Bay Derby, and third in the Grade 1 Wood Memorial. He was runner-up in the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes the prior year as a juvenile

Bred in Kentucky by Racehorse Management LLC, Any Given Saturday is out of the winning A.P. Indy mare Weekend in Indy, whose three winners from as many foals to race also include Grade 3-winner Bohemian Lady. He is from the family of Grade 1 winner Afifa, Grade 2 winner Alias Smith, and Grade/Group 3 winners Auction Ring and Second of June.
