Another Miracle rallies to win My Frenchman

Another Miracle rallied for a half-length win over Jack the Umpire in the $75,000 My Frenchman on Sunday at Monmouth Park. It was another half-length back in third to Kingpin.
The My Frenchman was a 5 1/2-furlong turf race for 3-year-olds.
Another Miracle ($11.80) settled a few lengths off the pace set by Kingpin, who dueled with Cajun Casanova through an opening quarter in 22.99 seconds and a half-mile in 46.28. Another Miracle angled out into the lane and went on to cover the distance on a course rated good in 1:05.10.
Paco Lopez was aboard for trainer Joe Orseno.
“I wound up in a good position with the way they were going at it up front,” Lopez told publicity at Monmouth Park. “Joe Orseno told me he wanted the horse in the race early so he wouldn’t be too far back. I didn’t have to use him too much early and that helped.

“This is a good horse. But sometimes you have to be lucky. Being from post position one, I was able to stay on the rail and watch everything up front until I asked him to go. It was as good a trip as I could have hoped for with the way the race developed.”
Another Miracle established his class last year, when he won the $100,000 Skidmore at Saratoga and went on to run third in the Grade 2 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint at Santa Anita. He was making his second start at 3 and second for Orseno, who took over training from Gary Contessa when Contessa retired.
Another Miracle is a son of American Pharoah who has now won 3 of 8 starts and earned $263,750. He races for Leonard Green and Jonathan Green.
Monmouth Park recently named Leonard Green the recipient of the Virgil “Buddy” Raines Award for distinguished achievement in racing.
