Creed, who won his maiden and a first-level allowance in a span of three weeks at Belmont this spring, was under consideration for the Grade 2, $150,000 Jim Dandy here Sept. 5. “I think it’ll give him some time to mature,” McGaughey said. Meanwhile, McGaughey said he is pointing Code of Honor, last year’s Travers and Jockey Club Gold Cup winner, to the Kelso Handicap at Belmont Park, a one-turn mile scheduled for Oct. 3. Code of Honor began his 4-year-old season with a victory in the Grade 3 Westchester on June 6 at Belmont. He has since finished third in the Grade 1 Metropolitan Handicap and, most recently, was fourth of five in the Grade 1 Whitney on Aug. 1 at Saratoga.
