Angel's Melody leads all the way in Hawkeyes Handicap
Angel’s Melody became a stakes winner Friday night, when she edged 3-5 favorite Kela’s Turn by a head in the $75,000 Hawkeyes Handicap at Prairie Meadows. It was another nose back in third to Stonecold Stunner.
The Hawkeyes was restricted to fillies and mares bred in Iowa. It was run over 1 1/16 miles.
Angel’s Melody ($15.40) made all the pace, setting fractions of 24.36 seconds for the opening quarter, 48.61 for the half-mile, and 1:13.06 for six furlongs. She went on to cover the distance on a fast track in 1:46.90.

Angel’s Melody is a daughter of Sing Baby Sing who races for her breeder, Larry Hagemeier. She has now won 5 of 14 starts for earnings of $191,552.
