Ancient Bells leads featured Sunday allowance
RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLEThe ninth race is the lone allowance Sunday at Turfway. For non-winners of three at a mile, the race drew six runners, led by the unbeaten Ancient Bells, a winner of two starts, and The Tizzler, who finished second against comparable opposition Jan. 17.
The Tizzler owns an edge in Beyer Speed Figures, having run numbers in the 70s in two of her last three starts, while Ancient Bells may have upside in Sunday’s stretch-out from sprints to a two-turn mile. The latter is a 4-year-old daughter of Harlan’s Holiday out of an Affirmed mare.
Beyond Ancient Bells and The Tizzler, who will be the favorites, value-priced alternatives are scarce, with the possible exception of Distorted Alice, a mare who regularly outruns her odds when competing on Polytrack.
