Anatomy will make her Tapeta debut in Friday’s featured seventh race at Gulfstream Park. She’s part of a field of seven fillies and mares set to start in the first-level allowance over five furlongs. The group includes eight-time winner Gitana and the returning runners Gunesh and The Mrs. Anatomy enters off a runner-up finish at this level on the main track Aug. 27 at Gulfstream. Prior to the start, she won a maiden special weight and a first-level allowance against Florida-breds. “This filly, she has a big heart,” trainer Jose D’Angelo said. The barn is hopeful she will handle the Tapeta based on how she worked over a synthetic track when entered in a 2-year-old in training auction last year at the Ocala Breeders’ Sale Co. sale in Florida. “We saw the video from the OBS sale and she was good,” D’Angelo said. “That kind of gives you some idea if a horse likes it or not. We’re going to try. I have a feeling she’s going to run good in there.” :: Bet with the Best! Get Free DRF PPs and Cashback when you wager. Join DRF Bets. Anatomy is a 3-year-old daughter of Liam’s Map. Edwin Gonzalez has the mount from post 5 for New Horizon Farm and Los Samanes. Gitana is looking for her third straight win, with her most recent victory coming on Tapeta. The Mrs makes the move to both open company and Tapeta after winning a first-level allowance over Florida-breds. Gunesh was beaten just three-quarters of a length last out when cutting back from a mile to 5 1/2 furlongs on Tapeta. The card also includes a first-level allowance for Florida-breds at 1 1/16 miles on Tapeta. Lord Eddard Stark could go favored in the race for 3-year-olds and up off a dead-heat win over open company in a $35,000 conditioned claiming route. The Beyer Speed Figure of 79 that he earned is the best last-race Tapeta number in Friday’s eighth and final race. Lord Eddard Stark won from the nine-hole last out, but drew arguably an improved post 2 for Friday. ◗ Jockey Cipriano Gil won his first race in the United States on Sunday, when he guided Queen Mocha to victory in the second. The 24-year-old is a native of Venezuela, where he has won more than 500 races, according to a press release from Gulfstream. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
