Analyze It returns from 22-month layoff to win Red Bank Stakes

Analyze It won the Grade 3, $150,000 Red Bank on Saturday at Monmouth Park while making first start since finishing third in the 2018 Breeders’ Cup Mile. He darted home by a length and three-quarters over Megacity, while Abiding Star won a photo for third over Irish Strait.
The mile race was run on firm turf.
Analyze It ($3) broke well from his rail post Saturday, was in tight into the first turn and settled about three lengths off the pace. Abiding Star took the field through fractions of 24.24 seconds for the opening quarter and 48.55 for the half-mile before Irish Strait moved to the lead through six furlongs in 1:11.86.
Analyze It angled out into the stretch and quickly kicked past the leaders while covering the distance in 1:35.54.

Joe Bravo was aboard for trainer Chad Brown.
Analyze It has had success off the bench in the past. He won the Grade 3 Transylvania at Keeneland off a layoff in April 2018. Following that start, he was just edged when finishing second in both the Grade 1 Belmont Derby and Grade 1 Secretariat at Arlington. He would go on to finish three-quarters of a length behind Expert Eye in that year’s Breeders’ Cup Mile at Churchill.
Analyze It is a 5-year-old son of Point of Entry who races for William H. Lawrence. He earned $90,000 for his win Saturday to improve his record to 4 for 9 with earnings of $849,400.
