American Theorem's triumph in Bing Crosby highlights American Pharoah's versatility

Triple Crown winner American Pharoah recorded the sixth individual Grade/Group 1 winner of his stud career on Saturday, with those six evenly split between dirt and turf as American Theorem won the Grade 1 Bing Crosby Stakes.
The 5-year-old American Theorem is from the first crop of American Pharoah, who is based at Coolmore’s Ashford Stud in Kentucky. The Bing Crosby, at six furlongs, was the gray’s second consecutive graded stakes victory sprinting in California, and continued to highlight his sire’s versatility.
American Pharoah’s other Grade 1 winners are European champion Van Gogh, winner of the Group 1 Criterium International at a mile on turf in France; Cafe Pharoah, a two-time winner of the Grade 1 February Stakes at a mile on dirt in Japan; Above the Curve, winner of the Group 1, 1 1/4-mile Prix Saint-Alary in France on turf; As Time Goes By, winner of the Grade 1 Beholder Mile on the Santa Anita dirt; and Harvey’s Lil Goil, winner of the Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup at 1 1/8 miles on Keeneland’s turf.
