American Pharoah's yearlings prominent in Saratoga sale catalog

Fasig-Tipton has cataloged 255 yearlings for its Saratoga selected sale, set for Aug. 6-7 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
Each session will begin at 6:30 p.m. Eastern at the Humphrey S. Finney Pavilion at the Fasig-Tipton sale grounds on East Avenue, just across Union Avenue from the main gate of Saratoga Race Course. The stable area has been expanded, as this spring, Fasig-Tipton broke ground on a new barn across George Street from the sale pavilion that will be utilized for the first time at its summer yearling sales.
Highlights from the Saratoga selected catalog include 15 yearlings from the first crop of Triple Crown winner American Pharoah – who attracted a star-studded book of mares in his first season at Coolmore’s Ashford Stud.
His yearling offerings include a filly out of multiple Grade 1 winner Life At Ten; a colt from the family of European standouts Galileo and Sea The Stars; a half-brother to Royal Ascot heroine Acapulco; a half-brother to Canadian classic winner Unspurned; a colt out of graded stakes winner Hessonite; and half-siblings to graded stakes winners including Grade 2-winning millionaire Upstart.
Other catalog highlights include a War Front filly who is a half-sister to champion Tepin, a half-sister to champion Classic Empire, and a filly who is the first foal out of champion La Verdad.
“Sire power, outstanding conformation, and depth of pedigree – it’s all at Saratoga this year,” Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning said in a release. “Every current leading North American sire is represented in this year’s catalog. Thirty-eight yearlings cataloged are siblings to graded or group stakes winners, 16 of which are Grade 1 winners.”
