Global View, who is developing into one of the better 3-year-old grass horses in North America, has been stabled at Arlington since he finished second to Bobby’s Kitten in the May 31 Penn Mile at Penn National. Global View has been in steady training here, but his next start has not yet been determined, according to Lindsay Schultz, the Arlington-based assistant to trainer Tom Proctor. Global View could stay at Arlington and race July 12 in the $200,000 American Derby, or travel to Belmont Park for a start in the $1,250,000 Belmont Derby Invitational. Global View hasn’t worked yet at Arlington, but Schultz said the Glen Hill Farm colt by Galileo could work sometime next week. Good Bye Greg targets Amsterdam The 3-year-old Good Bye Greg is being aimed at the July 26 Amsterdam Stakes at Saratoga after easy wins in the first two starts of his career, trainer Rivelli said Thursday. Good Bye Greg debuted May 3 at Arlington and won a six-furlong maiden race by 13 lengths, his time of 1:10.36 for six furlongs producing a Beyer Speed Figure of 95. Mentioned as a possibility for the Woody Stephens Stakes on the Belmont Stakes undercard, Good Bye Greg instead shipped to Woodbine and won a seven-furlong first-level allowance race there by more than five lengths June 7, though that performance produced only a 75 Beyer. “He did that so easily,” said Rivelli. Good Bye Greg is by the modest stallion Teuflesberg but fetched $135,000 at a 2-year-old auction during the spring of 2013. While his two wins have come on synthetic surfaces, Rivelli said Good Bye Greg had “worked awesome” over Hawthorne dirt before shipping to Arlington this spring. “He’s about as good a horse as I’ve had,” Rivelli said. Rivelli, the early-meet runaway leading trainer at Arlington, said he plans to take six horses to Saratoga, with at least a couple of 2-year-olds joining Good Bye Greg there. I Got It All tests open company The Illinois-bred 3-year-old I Got It All has been penciled in for a start in the $250,000 Iowa Derby on June 28 at Prairie Meadows. I Got It All has won 3 of 5 starts, including two straight Illinois-bred stakes races, the Land of Lincoln at Hawthorne and the Springfield here May 31. At one mile, the Springfield was I Got It All’s first start beyond six furlongs, and trainer Tom Swearingen is confident that I Got It All, a son of Tiz Wonderful, can stay the two-turn, 1 1/16-mile distance of the Iowa Derby. “It shouldn’t be a problem for him,” Swearingen said. But to make sure I Got It All handles the Prairie Meadows surface, Swearingen said he intends to ship the colt there from Arlington for a morning workout next Tuesday. Swearingen also said Countess Cashmere, the winner of the Purple Violet Stakes for Illinois-bred 3-year-old fillies, could make her next start in a turf allowance race here. ◗ Jerry Schwartz, a well-known Chicago-based owner and breeder, died Tuesday at 79. Schwartz, a doctor, raced under the nom de course SJ Stables – J for Jerry, and S for his wife, Shirley. The couple’s best horse was Cloudy’s Knight, a son of Lord Avie whom they bred and who won the Grade 1 Canadian International in 2007.
