Allowances headline Friday and Saturday cards at Ellis
There are no stakes during the first three-day week of the 31-day Ellis Park meet, but there are five allowances to be co-featured on eight-race cards Friday and Saturday.
The Friday allowances, both on the main track, go as races 3 and 5. Sianara, an Asmussen trainee who was second for this same condition in his only outing at Churchill this spring, may have an edge in race 3, a first-level race worth up to $52,000. In race 5, worth as much as $53,000, Sittin On Go is a lukewarm morning-line favorite trying to knock out his second allowance condition.
Two of the three Saturday allowances are scheduled for the turf course, which will be in steady use throughout the meet when conditions allow. A 50 percent chance of rain is in the local forecast Friday through Sunday.
Weekend action runs through Sunday, with the next stakes being the $75,000 Good Lord on July 17. First post daily is 12:50 p.m. Central, with televised action available through TVG and TVG2.
