Allowance includes two stakes winners, runner-up in key race
A pair of 3-year-old fillies who won restricted stakes this season, along with another 3-year-old filly who most recently finished second in a $100,000 allowance, will challenge older horses in Tuesday’s $46,000 feature at Parx Racing.
Stakes winners Aunt Ellipsis and Bella’s Rebel, plus Disco Chick, exiting a key allowance race, are among seven fillies and mares going 5 1/2 furlongs in a second-level optional $25,000 claimer.
Disco Chick was the beaten 6-5 favorite in the Dr. Teresa Garafalo Memorial for Pennsylvania-bred 3-year-old fillies on Sept. 6, finishing 1 ¾ lengths behind Aunt Ellipsis.
Disco Chick came back to finish second in an allowance that carried an inflated purse of $100,000 on the Pennsylvania Derby undercard. That heat came back live when fifth-place finisher Winning Image returned to win the $75,000 Cornucopia on Oct. 11 and Estrada Girl, who was sixth in the allowance, scored in an optional $25,000 claimer on Oct. 9.
Bella’s Rebel, formerly based in Canada, won the Rainbow Connection for Ontario-sired fillies at Fort Erie the only time she has raced on dirt.

KEY CONTENDERS
Estrada’s Girl (Last 3 Beyers: NA-69-88)
This 5-year-old mare will be coming back just five days after winning at this same level, coming from off the pace at Penn National. She has won three of her last four starts, including a win locally going five furlongs at this same level.
Bella’s Rebel (Last 3 Beyers: 37-37-78)
She was dull in her two most recent starts on turf and Polytrack, but posted by far the best Beyer of her nine-race career in the off-the-turf Rainbow Connection at Fort Erie three races back. Dangerous if she can come close to that performance in her second start for new trainer Harold Wyner.
Aunt Ellipsis (Last 3 Beyers: 78-87-78)
Returns fresh in search of her fourth straight win after taking a stakes for statebreds five weeks ago. In four starts following similar breaks, she has two wins, a second, and a third.
Disco Chick (Last 3 Beyers: 83-73-81)
Cleared her second allowance condition by six lengths against statebreds in July, but remains eligible for this conditiion against open company. Two horses who finished behind her last time out returned to win their next starts. In three starts in which she has returned in les than 30 days after finishing in the money, this filly has two wins and a second.
Burn Control (Last 3 Beyers: 71-72-74)
Returns to Parx, where she won the first two starts of her career on dirt, following a two-race experiment on turf. Trainer Kathleen DeMasi shows an 8-for-41 record (20 percent) with horses returning from short layoffs going from turf to dirt sprints.
