All Out Springs wins Noonan

Dave Basler|Mar 25, 2002

GROVE CITY, Ohio - All Out Springs dueled early then drew away for an easy 9 1/4-length victory under David Appleby Jr. in the $40,000 Howard B. Noonan Stakes Saturday at Beulah Park.

All Out Springs covered the six furlongs in 1:11.68, defeating six other Ohio-bred 3-year-olds. The victory was All Out Springs's third in four career starts for trainer Charles Burneson Jr. and owner-breeder Merril Speiss.

Beaver Cat chased the winner throughout and held the place by a half-length over Elm Grove, who trailed early. Watch Me Fire, the 8-5 favorite, faltered in the stretch to finish a distant fifth after a four-wide trip in his 2002 debut.

All Out Springs returned $6.60 to win as the second choice. The exacta paid $20.20 and the trifecta $100.
