Monday’s Grade 2 Honorable Miss at Saratoga drew a field of seven older fillies and mares going six furlongs, three of them (including the two morning-line favorites) daughters of Speightstown. It is one of two graded stakes at the meet for sprinters in this division, leading to the Grade 1 Ballerina at seven furlongs Aug. 23.
Trainer Larry Jones put the blinkers back on, and Starstruck responded with her first U.S. stakes victory in the Grade 3, $158,000 Matchmaker for fillies and mares on turf Sunday at Monmouth Park.
Immortal Eyes continued his big meet at Monmouth Park, winning the $107,000 Teddy Drone, the first of seven stakes on Haskell Day.
