
Trainer Mark Casse has two of the six 2-year-old fillies in Saturday’s $125,000 Ontario Debutante Stakes at Woodbine, Conquest Whiplash and Madly Truly. Neither of them should mind the six-furlong distance of the race, which came up fairly tough.
Trainer Greg Tracy has Saturday’s $50,000 Two Year Old Sales Stakes at Northlands Park surrounded, with three of the five horses entered coming out of his barn.
Sabercat, winless since taking down the Grade 3 Delta Downs Jackpot as a 2-year-old in the fall of 2011, looks to recapture some of that Louisiana magic Saturday night as he takes on six rivals in the $125,000 Evangeline Mile Handicap as the 118-pound highweight.

Ourwestcoastghost has perhaps become Northern California’s top sprinter this year and will try to strengthen his case in Saturday’s $50,000-added Jess Jackson Owners’ Handicap at the Sonoma County Fair.

Yannick Gingras, one of the sport’s most successful pilots, didn’t pull any punches when he said, “I wouldn’t trade him for anybody.” The horse Gingras was referring to is Sunfire Blue Chip, the likely favorite in Sunday’s $257,250 Empire Breeders Classic at Tioga Downs.
