Graded stakes winner Williamstown, a resident of the Old Friends Thoroughbred retirement farm in Georgetown, Ky., was euthanized on Feb. 25 due to complications from the neurological disease equine protozoal myeloencephalitis (EPM). The son of Seattle Slew was 25.

Godolphin’s two heavy favorites, Local Time in the UAE Oaks and Safety Check in the Zabeel Mile, both scored comfortable wins on the Thursday night card at Meydan Racecourse in Dubai.

The winter weather may be getting some people down but trainer Rob Harmon is taking it in stride. The conditioner has four horses prepped for Saturday’s Meadowlands program and appeared happy with the brief change in conditions on Wednesday. Harmon is prepping Detroit Rapper for Saturday’s $49,000 Charles Singer final and he’s hoping for the best.

Isn’t He Clever will be giving up recency to all of his rivals Saturday, when he seeks to win his fourth consecutive stakes in the $50,000 Curribot at Sunland Park in New Mexico. The 1 1/16-mile race will be Isn’t He Clever’s first start since November.

A pair of $60,000 turf stakes, the Dixie Poker Ace for older Louisiana-breds and the Black Gold Stakes for 3-year-olds, highlight the 10-race Saturday program at Fair Grounds.
