Barretts to begin sales Thursday at new venue

At a permanent new venue, Barretts Sales is relaunching its brand at the May 28 2-year-olds in training sales at Del Mar, hoping to transfer the success of recent decades at its Pomona location to the popular beachside racetrack. Barretts ceased holding sales on the Los Angeles County fairgrounds in Pomona after its 2-year-olds in training sale in February, and moved its offices to Arcadia, Calif., near Santa Anita racetrack, earlier this spring.

Geller new race-caller at Woodbine

Robert Geller has been hired as Woodbine’s new race caller, replacing the popular Dan Loiselle, who is retiring May 31. Geller, a 55-year-old native of Birmingham, England, has been the track announcer at Emerald Downs since it opened in 1996.

Green Doctor should be fitter for Selene Stakes
