As of noon Monday, there were still just more than 19,000 general admission tickets available for Saturday’s Belmont Stakes. But even if they are not all sold by Saturday, no tickets will be sold at the track on that day, the New York Racing Association announced over the weekend.

The combination of an apparently thriving American Pharoah and few challengers willing to take him on has resulted in an expected field of eight for the Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park on Saturday, when American Pharoah will be heavily favored to become the 12th Triple Crown winner and the first in 37 years.

Delaware Park continues its early meet series of Wednesday stakes this week with the Our Mims, a $50,000 race for 3-year-old fillies at a mile and 70 yards. The Our Mims is the local prep for the $300,000 Delaware Oaks on July 11.
