All kinds of odds available on Desert Party

After his victory in Thursday's UAE 2000 Guineas, Desert Party was introduced by the British bookmaker Coral into their Derby betting at 16-1. In the Kentucky Derby Future Wager in the United States, through midafternoon Friday, he was only 3-2, part of the mutuel field. By far the best price was available in Las Vegas: Harrah's Race Book had Desert Party at 60-1.

Old Fashioned, the 6-1 Derby Future Wager favorite in the States, was longer in Britain at 14-1 with both Coral and Ladbrokes, while 10-1 at Harrah's. Pioneerof the Nile was the Ladbrokes favorite at 12-1 but was 13-1 in the U.S. future wager, 16-1 with Coral, and 20-1 at Harrah's.

There was some value on Midshipman at the the two British firms, who had him at 20-1 when he stood at 18-1 in the U.S. future wager, with Harrah's offering 15-1.
