Sunday is a good day to hunt for Easter eggs and overlays. The eggs will be in the Santa Anita infield; the overlays are in races 1 and 6.
Epic storms that caused the cancellation of the latter part of Friday's card could mean that the fourth race, a solid allowance route, will be moved to the main track. Otherwise, the early pick four at Keeneland on Saturday does appear to be pretty straightforward.
It's a fantastic Blue Grass Saturday card at Keeneland with four graded stakes races, including the historic Kentucky Derby prep itself. I'm going to key the following horses in multiple-race wagers and will play them to win if they meet my odds requirements.
There are 21 3-year-olds that will run in Saturday’s three Kentucky Derby prep races. Only three – Frosted in the Wood Memorial at Aqueduct, Classy Class in the Blue Grass at Keeneland, and Cross the Line in the Santa Anita Derby – have raced at 1 1/8 miles. All three were defeated. In these Derby preps, the Wizard is searching for clues about a horse’s ability to handle 1 1/4 miles on the first Saturday in May. Distance limitation is a common denominator among many of this year’s 3-year-olds.
