All Dialed In should get pace setup she needs in Bear Fan Stakes

The limited chance that All Dialed In had to win the Betty Grable Stakes for California-bred fillies and mares at Del Mar on Nov. 13 ended with a troubled start. She recovered to finish third in a field of five at odds of 15-1.
“She could have been closer,” trainer Sean McCarthy said on Thursday.
All Dialed In will be part of a much larger field when she has her Golden Gate debut in Saturday’s $75,000 Bear Fan Stakes for statebred fillies and mares at six furlongs on the synthetic main track. Even with 10 rivals in the Bear Fan, McCarthy is hopeful that the 4-year-old All Dialed In can escape trouble and rally from the back of a field in a race that is likely to have a quick pace.
The Betty Grable Stakes at seven furlongs was All Dialed In’s first start in a sprint stakes.
“I like shortening up with her at six furlongs,” McCarthy said. “Synthetic is a question mark. If she handles that, I think she’ll run well.
“I like being on the outside. We’re definitely a late closer. She should come with a good run.”

Owned by Harris Farms, All Dialed In has won 3 of 10 starts. She won an allowance race at six furlongs at Los Alamitos in June, closing from last of six.
In the Bear Fan, All Dialed In will start from post 8. The field includes the 2022 stakes winner Tam’s Little Angel and Carolina Mia, who was second in two sprint stakes on the Northern California fair circuit in the summer.
Carolina Mia is quick and likely to be part of a pace that could also include the undefeated Chancery Way and Lagatha.
Chancery Way is unbeaten in three starts, but has not raced since a win in a one-mile allowance race at Sacramento in July. Trained by Jamey Thomas, Chancery Way will have her stakes debut in the Bear Fan.
Lagatha led throughout a $25,000 claimer at five furlongs on Nov. 25 in her first start in more than five months, pulling clear by 5 1/2 lengths for her third win in nine starts this year.
A fast pace would boost the chances of the improving 4-year-old Big Summer, who has won her last two starts, both in Southern California for trainer Carla Gaines.
Big Summer won an allowance race for statebred fillies and mares on the hillside turf course at Santa Anita on Oct. 7 and followed with a sharp win by 2 1/4 lengths in an allowance race at six furlongs at Del Mar on Nov. 12. In both races, Big Summer closed from off the pace to lead in the final furlong.
