HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - All About Allie dueled for the lead to midstretch and then rebroke to win the

$50,000 Rainbow Miss

by 2 1/4 lengths at Oaklawn Park on Sunday, one day after her owner, Sanders Brothers, and her trainer, David Whited, took the $50,000 Rainbow with longshot Rattlesnake Holler.

The Rainbow races are both restricted to 3-year-olds bred in Arkansas.

All About Allie ($5) broke sharply under jockey Cliff Berry and dueled with favorite Explosive Disco through fractions of 22.05 seconds for the opening quarter and 45.90 for the half-mile. All About Allie found more past the eighth pole and stormed home to cover the six furlongs on a fast track in 1:11.57.

“When they’re running head and head with her, she likes that,” Whited said. “She’s got some courage, and she’ll put them away.”

The Rainbow Miss was the third stakes win for All About Allie, who took the $50,000 Lady Razorback for Arkansas-breds at Louisiana Downs in September, and the $50,000 E.L. Gaylord Memorial at Remington Park in October.

All About Allie picked up $30,000 for the win, which was her fourth from six career starts. She has now earned $119,120.

Explosive Disco finished second in the Rainbow Miss, 5 1/4 lengths in front of third-place finisher Bulindamarie.

Whited said All About Allie would be considered for a start in one of two upcoming Arkansas-bred stakes at Oaklawn. She is a candidate for either the $50,000 Arkansas Breeders’ for fillies and mares at 1 1/16 miles April 2, or the $50,000 Downthedustyroad Breeders’ for fillies and mares at six furlongs April 3.

K.K. and Vilasini Jayaraman swept the Rainbow series as owners in 1995, while Bob Holthus swept the series as a trainer in 2001.
