Alexandersrun best in Seattle Slew BC Handicap

Dennis Dodge|Aug 07, 2005

AUBURN, Wash. - Alexandersrun came from just off the pace to score a neck victory over the fast-finishing Confidential Call in Sunday's $60,625 Seattle Slew Breeders' Cup Handicap for 3-year-olds at Emerald Downs.

Under Ricky Frazier, who was winning for the first time since having his mouth stepped on by a horse in a spill just a week earlier, Alexandersrun prevailed in 1:41.60 for 1 1/16 miles and paid $6.00 to win as the favorite in a field of 11.

Alexandersrun, a Florida-bred son of Sweetsouthernsaint, was making his first start for owner Thomas Bell and trainer Tim McCanna after being purchased privately last month. He had finished second in Monmouth Park's Spend A Buck Handicap in his previous start on July 9.
